Working for Washington
31 days until Election Day!
Last weekend, I had the great opportunity to join volunteers at our booth at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup. Over the course of the entire fair, approximately 150 volunteers helped register voters, answer questions, and provide campaign literature and swag to interested fair goers. This has been a long passion project for leaders from the 2nd LD and Olympia area. We were proud to offer a grant to make it happen! Huge thanks to every elected official, volunteer, and candidate who participated in our booth!
At the fair, I also saw a lot of signs referring to the statewide initiatives saying “Vote Yes, Pay Less”. Well that’s just B.S. As our state and our nation finally claw our way out of the disruptions caused by the pandemic, we cannot allow Republicans to gain control of any of our statewide offices and we simply can’t afford the multi-billion dollar hole the GOP-back statewide initiatives would blow in our state budget. This election, please remember to tell all your friends and neighbors to Defend Washington by voting “NO” on every statewide initiative.
September State Committee Meeting and Party Infrastructure Grants
This weekend we are traveling to Yakima for the September State Committee Meeting. Democratic Chairs and State Committee Members will gather to make our final preparations before election day.
I am proud to preview that we will be announcing that WA Dems have disbursed $100,000 spread across all 88 of our local and county party organizations. These grants will help organize rural voters, fill technology needs, host community events, and purchase Harris-Walz yard signs for our local parties.
If you will be in Yakima for our meeting, I hope you will swing by and say, “hi!” It’s going to be a terrific meeting and I look forward to seeing most of our Chairs and State Committee Members.
Latinos con Harris-Walz Whatsapp Group
Are you Hispanic/Latino and interested in texting your community to organize and get out the vote for the Harris-Walz campaign? You can sign up for the Harris-Walz Whatsapp group here. More than half of all U.S. Latinos use Whatsapp to send texts and make calls, making it a vital resource to engage Spanish-speaking and intermittent voters who might otherwise miss the campaign’s messaging and stances on the issues they care most about.
