Working for Washington

45 days until Election Day!

Washington State Democrats know this election is going to come down to the wire, which is why it has been so gratifying to see the boundless enthusiasm among our most committed grassroots supporters like you.

Whether it’s Peninsula Democrats hyping up their communities to vote, Spokane Democrats rallying for our statewide candidates as they debated this week, or King County volunteers organizing a home made meal for hungry canvassers, people are pitching in ways big and small to power us to victory in November.

Our Coordinated Campaign powered by grassroots supporters has surpassed 310,000 phone calls and 66,000 door knocks! If you are already volunteering for our candidates and campaigns, your support means the world to us. If you haven’t had the opportunity to take a canvass or phone shift, please sign up here!

We have close races everywhere across the state – this election is bigger than just who controls the White House. We need all hands on deck as we are just one month away from Washington voters receiving their ballots in the mail. In fact, Washington voters who are overseas are getting their ballots as you read this! Get Out the Vote has already begun!

September State Committee Meeting and Party Infrastructure Grants

Next weekend, Democratic Chairs and State Committee Members will be gathering in Yakima for our September meeting. This will be our first gathering since the State Convention back in June and I cannot wait to share all the meaningful progress we have made since then.

Not only did Washington make a splash at the Democratic National Convention, we won a hand recount to advance Dave Upthegrove into the Lands Commissioner general election, we have fully staffed our Coordinated Campaign, and we have made the case to voters they should REJECT every statewide initiative on their ballot to protect our schools, frontline workers, and our clean air and clean water.

I am also proud to announce that our second round of Local Party Organization (LPO) grants will be awarded. These grants enable our Legislative District and County Parties to invest in their party infrastructure to build strong and durable organizations capable of winning any election. Also: WE WILL HAVE HARRIS-WALZ YARD SIGNS! (I know, we’re all very excited).

Our previous round of LPO grants funded rural outreach, party building, community events, technology assets, and numerous other programs and activities that spread our message and recruited new volunteers to grow our party across the state. To everyone joining us next weekend, I look forward to seeing you in Yakima!
